Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, cleaning, and servicing all mechanical parts and systems to ensure continued airworthiness of all aircraft operated, managed or repaired.   The incumbent will meet Federal Aviation Standards (FAA) and comply with FAA regulations to ensure regulatory compliance.  Technicians will report to the Director of Maintenance, who will ensure the organization is maintaining industry leading standards in aircraft maintenance and providing world-class service to all of our constituents. 

Responsibilities

  • Spread the OneSky culture to others while displaying the company fundamental principles daily
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures
  • Gain efficiencies in all areas of development while performing quality maintenance in accordance with applicable technical data and FAA regulations
  • Perform quality inspections, repairs, component replacement, and fault correction
  • Assist Troubleshooting aircraft for problems during routine inspections
  • Document work performed per applicable manuals, but not limited to Repair Station Manual (RSM), Structural Repair Manual (SRM), Aircraft Maintenance and Component Maintenance Manuals
  • Assist in performing complete engine runs on fleet aircraft as applicable
  • Assist or perform towing of aircraft as authorized
  • Operate ground support equipment including, but not limited to tugs, jacks, nitrogen servicing carts, and air conditioning servicing cart
  • Support repair or recovery of aircraft at either on-site or off-site locations
  • Support towing, cleaning, and fueling of aircraft as required

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Helicopter experience preferred; not required
  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency of responsibilities along with knowledge, skills, and experience will determine level as outlined below
    • Level 1
      • Entry level
    • Level 2
      • Complete OJT (on the job training) requirements under company training program
      • Ability to return aircraft to airworthiness condition
      • 12 – 24 months of company experience
    • Level 3
      • Successful completion of Level 2 requirements
      • Completion of requirements and appointment to perform inspector duties

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic knowledge of reading and interpreting aircraft blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and manuals
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft and or avionics systems
  • Basic to Working knowledge of manuals necessary to perform job including, but not limited to Repair Station Manual (RSM), General Maintenance Manual (GMM), Aircraft Maintenance Manual and Component Maintenance Manual, Systems Manual, Maintenance Manuals, and various technical information necessary to perform job
  • Basic skill to assemble detailed aircraft parts and components
  • Basic skill to assist and or troubleshoot and repair aircraft in a timely and efficient manor
  • Demonstrate the skills associated with FAA Airframe and Powerplant License
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate tools, ground support equipment, and test equipment as required
  • Training to operate Tug, Forklift, Ground Support Equipment, Specialized tooling for aircraft type
  • Qualifications, experience, and other aircraft type training will be considered during hiring process. Credit for aviation experience gained in other employment or military service will be at the discretion of the Director of Maintenance or Repair Station Accountable Manager in consultation with Human Resources

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical demands may require a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (i.e., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) along with various office equipment
  • Physical demands may include walking, carrying, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, or pulling up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to visually and aurally assess conditions.
