2nd Shift Meat Cutter
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assure all products are properly cut as they are received into the cutting area.
Take care and caution when handling open exposed product.
Assure product grades are handled in a manner such not to cause misbranding.
Perform random quality inspection on the product during cutting task.
Portion product according to the product specification.
Assure proper trimming and portioning is being done to meet standard yields.
Assure product labels are proper and get transferred to the packaging tech in a accurate and timely manner.
Perform efficient cutting performance as needed to comply with product cutting standard.
Perform efficient changes to comply with the product specification.
Perform a final product inspection prior to placing the product on the cutting tray and sending it down the line to the packaging department.
Maintain sharp edge on the cutting knife.
Conduct sanitation cleaning as needed to maintain good sanitary conditions.
Perform all other duties assigned by the plant supervisor or other management members.
Minimum Requirement for Packaging Tech:
Good verbal and communication skills.
Read and write Basic English.
Perform a variety of tasks independently.
Work efficiently and unsupervised.
Work in a wet, cold environment (35 to 40 Degrees F)
Able to maintain a sharp edge on the knife
Work at a fast repetitive pace to achieve the pounds per hour standard set by the company
- Must be able to work 2nd shift. Start time will vary from 2-3pm and will end 11pm to 12am
