Under the direction of the Logistics Department, Buyer/Planner will be responsible for the execution of production scheduling, purchasing functions, and the development of control measures to prevent shortages for assigned projects. Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate production material activities for manufacturing products. This involves the creation and execution of purchase orders and work orders in order to maintain production schedule.
- Review MRP reports to provide accurate and timely resolution of material shortages.
- Resolve any late work orders and define schedule recovery. Daily review of work order status and update of work order due dates is required.
- Monitor safety stock levels, analyzing volatility, lead times, and system issues to recommend and set parameters to efficiently forecast/plan/deliver products.
- Select and negotiate with approved vendors, for placing purchase order in response to material requirements.
- Monitors and takes appropriate action on engineering change notices.
- Manage effective dates as defined by ECO release. And work on new product release working closely with R&D Engineering.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Experience
- Bachelors degree in business or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years of purchasing and/or production planning experience or experience in a related field required (five years preferred).
- APICS and CPM certifications preferred.
- Hands on experience with MRP processes and computer systems preferred.
