Our Long Term Care and Sub-Acute facility located in Mercer County is currently seeking a Full Time RN Registered Nurse to serve as a Unit Manager for one of our long term care unit. The RN Registered Nurse Unit Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Oversite of the units nurses and aides (RN ‘s, LPN ‘s and CNA ‘s)
- Establishes schedules and assignments, ensuring all assessments and reassessments are done according to regulation and in a timely manner.
- Monitor and review all assessments.
- Coordinates and direct the Interdisciplinary team in the care plan process.
- Ensures timeliness of care planning process and ensures care plan goals are communicated in a proper time frame to all of the needed individuals
- Thorough daily rounds, ensuring that care standards are being followed.
- Monitors the effectiveness of the interventions
- General patient/resident care
- Ensures that all of the staff treat each resident in the proper manner, respecting their privacy and rights.
- Intervene as needed in providing care, washing, bathing, medication administration/treatments
- Monitors that all appropriate care is being delivered in a proper time frame, by the appropriately qualified individual and following the facility policies.
- Resident and Staff Education
- Monitors and ensures that all need education of resident, responsible party, and staff is done in the proper and timely manner.
- Intervenes appropriately and in a timely manner when necessary.
- Ensures that all documentation is following approved standards and guidelines and is being done in a timely manner.
- Reviews or participates actively in all assessments and reassessments, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy.
- Interacts with the pharmacy consultant to ensure corrective measures taken as needed.
- Monitors drug usage and ensure appropriated review and documentation is done.
- Ensure that adequate supplies of stock items are maintained.
- Monitor that all tests, consults, appointments, etc. are done in a timely manner and that all reports are given to the physician.
- Ensures that information is given to all persons involved in the care of the patient/resident, including the patient/resident.
- Coordinates all the activities of the unit, monitoring all areas on a daily basis, for compliance.
- Communicates effectively with all staff and supervisors, informing them of problems and needs as soon as identified. Ensures that all information regarding the patient/resident is communicated to the proper individual(s) in a timely manner.
- Attends all appropriate meetings and communicates information to appropriate individual(s).
- Always conducts self in an appropriate manner and ensures that all the staff does the same.
- Organizes and uses time appropriately.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Maintains high professional ethics at all times in all dealing with patients/resident, visitors, staff and supervisors.
- Demonstrates motivation in professional growth.
- Maintains and ensures that a positive working relationship is maintained
- Assists as needed
- Maintains a positive relationship with patient/resident and the responsible party.
- Monitors the use of supplies and equipment needs on the unit and communicates these to the supervisor
