JOB SUMMARY
Understands the clinical, financial and operational aspects of all facets of cancer care, including radiation therapy, infusion services, cancer registry and clinical trials and research. Successfully functions in collaboration with physician leadership as a collaborative management team. Ensures the achievement of excellent patient care and meets the organizations core strategies and operating results by providing leadership. Facilitates the effective utilization of resources. Formulate strategic planning and implement programmatic growth and development initiatives to consistently solidify and expand market share position. Evaluates the outcomes of the service according to established patient care outcomes, standards, policies, procedures and goals by using reliable and valid tools and processes. Facilitates continuous performance improvement by encouraging innovation, supporting reasonable risk-taking and new ideas and keeping up to date in the function. Recognizes problems or situations that might benefit from existent research and promotes the use of research findings. Maintains the organizations reputation as a patient-centered care organization by linking Cancer Services to other patient-centered principles and communicates those principles to employees as goal objectives. Links the Cancer Services function to other organization functions by personally participating in work groups and teams and encouraging staff to do the same. Upholds organizations values and principles by creating and maintaining effective, positive customer service relationships to ensure that customer needs are met by identifying and appropriately responding to difficult interactions and educating staff as to importance of quality customer service. Creates employee ownership for their careers and success.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelors Degree required, Masters prepared in Business Administration, Health Administration, or Nursing preferred.
Experience: Minimum of five years of management/administrative experience in Cancer services in a healthcare setting. Experience in global management of a Cancer Services preferred.
Skills. Must possess excellent communication, organization, interpersonal, and marketing skills.
