Position: Nurse Case Manager Pay range: Commensurate with experience
· This is a full-time position working during normal hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
· Remote, work-from-home availability – hybrid position.
· Some weekend and after-hour work may be periodically required.

Requirements:
· Registered Nurse Designation (RN).
· A valid, unrestricted Louisiana Nursing license.
· Experience with Worker’s Compensation preferred but not required.
· Two (2) or more years of nursing experience, and work experience as a Case Manager.
· Ability to acquire a working knowledge of applicable rules and regulations and/or specialized industry knowledge related to the functional area.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and effective interpersonal skills.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Ability to multi-task effectively in a high-paced, high-volume, fast-paced, and at times stressful environment.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office including Excel spreadsheets.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel to assigned locations is required.
Responsibilities:
- Provides Medical Case Management through in-person and telephonic communications with the patient, physician, other health care providers, employer, and others.
- Utilizes nursing knowledge to discuss the current treatment plan with the physician and discuss alternate treatment plans.
- Conducts comprehensive assessment of Injured worker's medical, employment, and suitable return-to-work capabilities.
- Evaluate the patient’s treatment plan for appropriateness, medical necessity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Provides assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient’s progress.
- Attends doctors, other providers, home, and in some cases, attorney’s visits.
- Implements care such as negotiating the delivery of durable medical equipment and nursing services.
- This role requires regular travel, depending on the injured worker’s injuries and needs.
Knowledge And Skills:
- Experience as an RN, Medical Case Manager is ideal, or a clinical background in orthopedics, neurology, or rehabilitation is preferred.
- Ability to meet with the patient, their physicians, other healthcare providers, attorneys, advisors/clients, and coworkers.
- A cost containment background, such as utilization review or managed care is helpful.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
