The Quality Manager is a critical role that involves overseeing plant-level quality processes, developing training materials, and driving continuous improvement in product and service quality.   This position currently oversees the Technical Support Supervisor and their team with the intent to mentor and build the team to be strong enough to become their own separate department.  The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader capable of managing cross-functional teams, diagnosing technical problems, and implementing effective solutions to enhance customer satisfaction and product excellence.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead quality assurance processes including receiving inspection, end of line inspection, and all in-process quality assurance efforts.
  • Visit installation sites as needed to address and rectify fixture issues.
  • Develop and execute service orders, ensuring detailed documentation of service activities and root cause analysis.
  • Train and mentor new team members, ensuring adherence to established processes and procedures.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, devising appropriate repair or replacement strategies.
  • Collaborate with the customer service team to gather accurate data on issues and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Advance plant quality using industry standard processes and tools, such as Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
  • Work closely with the IT department to develop and maintain quality metrics and systems.
  • Partner with the new product development team to ensure the high quality of new products.

Manager Duties:

  • Lead a team of Quality Inspectors and help support the Supervisor over the Technical Service Representatives, ensuring high levels of performance, accountability, and continuous development.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the quality and technical service teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the quality team in Mexico to ensure seamless operations and maintain high-quality standards across all locations.
  • Oversee the training and development of team members in quality assurance and technical service skills, tools, and processes.
  • Ensure that both the Quality Inspectors and Technical Service Representatives are equipped with the necessary resources and knowledge to meet and exceed job expectations.

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; BS in Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a technical or mechanical role.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in leadership positions, with a proven track record in managing quality assurance or technical service teams.
  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or quality functions, with a preference for those with experience leading lean programs.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with computer software, including proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong technical or electrical experience, with a keen ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Positive, energetic team player who works well with diverse personalities.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.

Working Conditions:

  • This role involves frequent walking, standing, bending, and the use of hands and wrists.
  • May require prolonged periods of computer use.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Travel up to 10% may be required to visit installation sites, participate in training, or engage with teams at different locations.
