and Front Office Supervisor
REQUIRED TRAINING/
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent
Prior guest service experience desirable
Computer experience helpful
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Able to stand at attention for 8 hour shift
Able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds
Excellent communication skills
Good hearing
Clear, understandable voice
Command of the English language
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Possesses knowledge of all hotel services.
- Greets guests courteously and registers guests into the hotel.
- Possesses knowledge of reservation and billing systems.
- Maintains and controls room inventory and availability.
- Possesses knowledge of the hotel's credit policies.
- Possesses knowledge of hotel products, rates, and special programs.
- Distributes guests' mail and packages.
- Possesses knowledge of, and uses, emergency procedures.
- Maintains safety deposit boxes.
- Conducts inventory of and restocks supplies.
- Completes "bucket checks" each shift.
- Completes checkout procedures for guests.
- Balances all departments accounts, and completes all required back-up documents.
- Maintains security of guest keys and cash drawer; counts and verifies the cash at the end of each shift.
- Monitors guest accounts and notifies supervisor of any extreme changes to any guest account, or suspicious actions by guests.
- Runs a detailed shift audit by employee, and balances daily work to computers.
- Maintains neatness of front desk work area.
- Completes shift check-list.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Front Office Supervisor.
Additional Responsibilities:
APPEARANCE AND GROOMING: All staff members are required to follow the guidelines set forth by the associate handbook.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos, ability to write simple correspondence, ability to effectively present one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other staff members of the organization and hospitality community.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages and ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
REASONING ABILITY: ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished written, oral, or diagram form, ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations and ability to address customer personalities in various business situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a staff member to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the staff member is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, to handle and feel objects, tools controls and type; talk with and hear guests.
