DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates and maintains schedule for field trip and athletic coverage
- Assists with scheduling bus transportation for both regular and special education students
- Maintains records of driver availability and route coverage
- Works collaboratively to maximize efficiency with bus route schedules
- Assists with creation and implementation of summer school bus schedules
- Maintains Edulog database
- Collects information from bus drivers and attendants to prepare reports in a timely fashion
- Prepares required special reports
- Responds to parent inquiries regarding student transportation; investigates and resolves
complaints
- Provides excellent customer service to parents, coaches, principals, community members, and
other invested stakeholders
- Performs related work as required or assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School or GED required. Responsible experience in bus scheduling and dispatching or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Commercial drivers license with school bus endorsement or ability to obtain one within six (6) months of being hired.
- Good knowledge of school bus operation and safety techniques, route scheduling procedures, practices, and mandates.
- Good knowledge of school locations and local roads.
- Good knowledge of transportation student information requirements and ability to maintain student and other transportation related databases.
- Good knowledge and ability to effectively use computerized scheduling system.
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents and school personnel.
- Ability to use a wide range of software to collect/store/retrieve information.
- Ability to collect/organize detailed information and prepare necessary reports.
