Job purpose
Cleans cooking utensils, plates, cups, saucers, silverware, glasses, and other dishes. Collects garbage from various areas in the kitchen and transport it to waste containers. Prep food items and help with food production.
Duties and responsibilities
- Prepares tableware for washing, receives or collects tableware to be washed, and removes food residue with a scraper, sorts china, glassware, and silverware, placing each in separate racks, or trays, etc. Heavily encrusted dishes will have to receive more attention in the way of scrubbing and soaking in order to loosen all material.
- Set up dish washing machine, ie. turn machine on, check soap, rinse supply, and ensure empty food strainers.
- Prepare glassware for washing, ie. empty liquids left in glasses, separate glasses according to size, by placing glassware in sectioned glass racks in preparation for them to pass through the dish washing machine.
- Dries and polishes glassware with clean dishtowels, sorting individual pieces according to type, if necessary.
- Clean dish washing equipment and working area.
- Collects garbage from dining room, kitchen grills, and other collection areas. Examines garbage for silverware and dishes.
- Delivers retrieved silverware and dishes to their respective areas.
- Cleans garbage cans thoroughly with hot soapy water and steam.
- Assists kitchen in food preparation
- Help to ensure food prep and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
- Performs other necessary duties as well, ie. keeps record of broken dishes, sweeps and mops the entire kitchen floor and perhaps other areas, periodically throughout the day.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas as per F&B Manual.
- Complete opening and closing checklists as outlined in the F&B Manual.
- Conduct daily walk through to ensure the facility is safe and presentable and that courtesy and efficiency are being exercised throughout. See F&B Manual for guidelines.
- Protect the assets of the Club.
- Operate within the guidelines, policies, standards and constraints as established by Hampton Golf.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience preferred
- Excellent oral communication and listening skills
- Ability to follow directions
- Excellent customer service skills
