Staff Psychologist

$10,000 Sign-on Bonus

Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5 pm

Join the Hampton - Newport News Community Services Board as a Staff Psychologist. As part of the Child and Adolescent Outpatients Clinic, this position provides psychological assessment and evaluation services. These services encompass personality, educational, parental competency, court, developmental, vocational, disability, and neuropsychological evaluations. Your role as a Staff Psychologist will include:

Psychological Evaluations

• Perform psychological evaluations
• Perform court-ordered evaluations and ensure their completion in a timely manner.
• Provide oversight of psychological evaluations referred from within the CSB and outside referral sources and maintain communication with referral agents
• Supervise psychometrics, Residents and Predoctoral Clinical Psychology Interns responsible for completing psychological evaluations.
• Coordinate psychological evaluations with other evaluations.
• Maintain and expand library of testing materials.

Assessment and Research

• Train staff in use of outcomes assessment instruments.
• Provide oversight of data analysis and interpretation.
• Support efforts to obtain grants and maintain existing grant-funded programs.

Consultation, Training, and Community Involvement

• Participate in case consultation with Case Management and Community Care Coordination staff.
• Consult with staff throughout CSB regarding use of psychological evaluations and forensic assessment.
• Train YFS staff on diagnostic and assessment issues.
• Provides clinical supervision for licensure to staff within your division, or throughout the agency as needed.
• Represent CSB at Hampton Utilization Review Team Meetings.

Outpatient Psychotherapy

• Maintain small caseload of therapy clients.
• Co-facilitate therapy groups as needed.

Requirements: Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist, with one year of experience in a clinical setting working with emotionally troubled children and affected families including experience performing comprehensive psychological evaluations and therapy.

Current H-NNCSB employees are not eligible for a Sign-on Bonus.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
