Controller

JOB SUMMARY

The Controller Leads and directs an organization's accounting functions. Establishes and maintains the organization's overall accounting systems, procedures, and policies. Directs all analysis and reporting of financial information including budgets, planning, and required filings and reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct supervisor for accounting staff in the areas of general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchasing
• Provides direction and supervision by delegating workload and managing employee performance
• Oversees internal and external financial reports to provide an accurate review of the company s current and projected financial position
• Ensures financial policies and procedures follow professional standards, as well as state and federal regulatory requirements
• Leads the finance and accounting organization as the subject matter expert of the Company s enterprise resource planning system (ERP)Work closely with the CFO and leadership team to develop the annual budget and ongoing performance metrics.
• Presents financial reporting package and project financial review to senior management
• Establishes and develops accounting policies and procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and standards
• Evaluates current practices and policies and drive continuous improvement, research, and analyze accounting and tax matters
• Coordinates insurance compliance for all vendors.
• Actively involved in the company s commitment to quality and ISO program

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor s degree in accounting or related field, CPA or MBA preferred
• 7 years of finance experience, including the management of financial staff
• Experience with revenue recognition and project-based accounting
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
• Advanced in Excel and Microsoft office
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to interact with customers, vendors, and employees in a professional manner, excellent verbal, and written communication skills
• Risk assessment and problem-solving skills
• Software (Epicor)/ technology experience is a plus
