Job Description
- Operate tractor-trailers and/or other Class A vehicles to transport goods between various locations
- Pre-cool and monitor new refer trailers.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles and ensure all safety equipment is in working order
- Secure cargo safely and within weight restrictions using straps, pads, rope, and other fasteners
- Read maps and comply with all DOT rules regarding hours of service and rest breaks
- Maintain log books and record keeping of working hours, miles, and shipments
- Efficiently Unload palitized product from 3 accessible temp zones of the trailer using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks
- Communicate accurately to dispatch about deliveries, loads, hours, and any issues on the road
- Conduct cargo checks during transport to ensure safe delivery of food grade products
- Comply with all company and Department of Transportation regulations
- Handle customer/consumer feedback and ensure concerns are addressed appropriately
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with no restrictions and clean driving record
- Ability to regularly lift up to 75 lbs
- Knowledge of DOT rules and safety regulations
- Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to potentially be away from home for extended periods, average 1 week
- Physically able to meet the demands of long haul routes and loads
- Understand and abide by Hana Group policies, standards, mission and core values
