What are the responsibilities and job description for the Claims Handler (Previous Adjuster) - Fully Remote position at Hancock Claims Consultants?

Position Purpose:
Claims Handlers are responsible for handling claims efficiently and that all aspects of the claim are up to date. This role is responsible for ensuring all policy holders and clients have up to date information in regard to where their claim is at in the process. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
·         Primary liaison between the insured and insurance companies
·         Clear communication of claims status and policy language to all parties
·         Communicates claim action/processing with insured, client and agent or broker when appropriate.
·         Able to handle large volume of calls
·         Able to show empathy and patience toward insureds
·         Assist with other duties as seen fit by the Claims Manager 
 
Qualifications:
·         Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
·         Former adjuster but license is not required
·         Experience speaking on the phone providing claim status 
·         Prior experience working in various claims systems
·         Prior experience providing detail status updates
·         Strong customer service skills and problem-solving skills
·         Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task and adapt to changing environments
·         Minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute with accuracy.
·         Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to adjust and interact with all levels of personnel and customers
·         Professional written and oral communication skills
·         Strong attention to detail with ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, achieve goals, organize and take pride in their work
 
Preferences:
·         Insurance industry experience, minimum of 5 years
·         Prior experience handling Florida claims
·         Ability to understand and communicate ABO and FL Litigation
  • Knowledge of construction basics
 
Work Schedule:  
·         Full-Time, Non-Exempt position
·         8:30am – 5:30pm, M-F
·         Schedule may change according to business operational needs
·         Work is performed remote.

·         Must be comfortable sitting for extended periods of time.
