POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Field Deputy

Department: Assessor’s Office

Reports to: Assessor

SUMMARY:

Collects property data in Hancock County for the purposes of tax appraisal.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee regularly works both indoor and outdoor in all weather conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect data on residential property.
  • Collect data on mobile homes and other personal property.

TECHNICAL SKILLS, GENERAL ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:

  • General knowledge of construction, a plus.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Ability to lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

LICENSE:

  • Valid Driver's License.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must pass criminal background check.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be registered to vote.
  • Must pass drug tests.

Pay: $13.25 - $13.75 per hour
