What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager (GM) position at Handlebend?
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to oversee our front-of-house at Handlebend. The taproom here features a fully capable coffee shop, a light, built-in-house food menu, and a 12-tap lineup of Nebraska craft beers, with a craft cocktail and mule menu featuring Nebraska spirits. We've built our foundation around the idea of community and collaboration, and providing a next-to-none experience within the walls of our building. Building relationships and working on projects or events with breweries, distilleries, and other Nebraska brands is where we're the happiest. We boast a highly capable team and a fun, flexible environment. We like to run with outside the box ideas, and focus on building community in our hometown, and beyond.

Above all, your job will be to lead, inspire, and train our team. We are looking for someone with success and experience in a human management role. We put a lot of effort into the culture within our team and the Handlebend Building.
You will need the skillset and critical thinking capabilities to solve problems and to enable your team to do the same. We need a leader who can bring knowledge to the table in hospitality and in the management of a team; a leader who can get on board with the big-picture ideas of the greater Handlebend brand, who understands how the front-of-house fits as a brand-asset and can teach that downstream, to our team.
We can offer creativity and flexibility in your schedule. We need you to be present enough during shifts and "open" hours to have a good feel for the staff and their abilities; present enough to maintain respect as a leader from your peers and team. We feel that schedule-flexibility, if used correctly, is a more efficient way of running a business, and are open to discussion on what that looks like in this case.

-Work with creative team on local advertising for events, menu offerings, and other "HB Style" content.
- Oversee preparation processes to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
