Teacher
Position Description
Under the supervision of the Lead teacher plan and take responsibility for a group of eight children (preschool) or 4 children (infants). Must be able to provide a safe, healthy environment for the children, implement each child’s individual schedule and communicate to parents daily happenings in the child’s experience and contribute to parent conferences.
You must be able to participate in staff meetings, and perform related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Must be able to relate successfully with children and their families in both Spanish and English.
Prepare learning activities both inside and outside as directed by Lead Teacher.
Assist in maintaining the learning environment both inside and outside in a clean and safe manner.
Work independently and in a team within required guidelines as directed.
Be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written correspondence.
Be aware of and sensitive to children and families from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to twist, turn, stoop, reach, push, bend and demonstrate a full range of motion.
Ability to lift children, boxes or equipment up to 50 pounds.
Present a state required physician’s report and TB test completed within 1 year prior to start date.
Must clear Child Abuse Index Check and Fingerprint Clearance per Title 22.
Be familiar with CACFP and maintain meal records
Be able to observe, write anecdotal notes, and complete a DRDP assessment on children.
Participate in parent/teacher conferences.
Qualifications Guide
Teacher: Possess an Associate Teacher permit or higher. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Cards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
