Your Impact:

Handshake is hiring a PR Manager reporting to the Head of Communications. In this role you will help to shape the company brand and amplify our mission to key target audiences. You will have opportunities to lead external communications campaigns from soup to nuts, alongside a growing team and top-notch and agency partners. 

Your Role:

• Identify and develop newsworthy stories to support the communications strategy
• Actively pitch reporters and cultivate media relationships with key journalists
• Research and prepare press materials including briefing documents, press releases, media lists, pitches, communications plans, award submissions, speaking proposals and media lists
• Supervise competitive media activity and industry news
• Manage and improve department processes and procedures
• Liaise with PR agency, communicating communications priorities and preparing campaign materials
• Collaborate with social and marketing teams on special projects and events

Your Experience:

• Proven track record of executing successful PR strategies with strong earned media results 
• Outstanding organizational, project management and creative problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline and results-driven environment
