Compensation: $15.00/hr
About the Engineering Intern position
We are looking for a enthusiastic Intern to learn, understand, and actively support the Hankook Tire manufacturing plant in Clarksville, TN.
Internship positions may be available in the Manufacturing, Maintenance (Facility Technology), Quality Assurance, or Technology Teams.
Engineering Intern responsibilities are:
- Work with a "Safety Always" mindset through supporting and promoting continuous improvement of safety and health in the workplace by complying with all safety policies and procedures
- Perform all duties with a "Quality First" mindset through improvement of work processes and procedures to eliminate and prevent defects
- Support process of problem solving and continuous improvement in a Plan – Do – Check – Act methodology
- Support discovery, planning, and execution of waste prevention and efficiency improvements
- Aid in the development of manufacturing process concepts
- Review and monitor process data to develop reports
- Manage project objectives and tasks as assigned
- Troubleshoot and improve new/existing manufacturing processes
- Aid in the design and purchase of production equipment as required
- Submit work orders and work with maintenance team to complete tasks
- Learn contractor management during equipment installations
- Support the development and maintenance of process documentation
- Complete operator work analysis and develop work instructions
Engineering Intern requirements are:
- Selected candidates must be local to the Clarksville, TN area. Room and board is not offered for our internships.
- (Required) Eligible to work in the U.S. without requiring VISA sponsorship now or in the future
Education:
- (Required) Currently enrolled in a BS/BA major
- (Preferred) Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering major
- (Required) 3.0 or above GPA
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets
- Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds
