Job Description
Harbor View Medical Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mather Hospital, is a full healthcare spectrum of primary care and specialty care offices. We are currently looking for a full-time LPN for our Endocrinology office located in Port Jefferson.

Candidates must pass a drug screen and background check and must show proof of vaccination for COVID before being hired.
General Overview:
Administer direct and indirect patient care to patients in an office setting as appropriate to the qualifications of an LPN. The right candidate will be tactful in handling patient problems and have excellent communication skills with all office staff and outside agencies. Coordinating and implementing appropriate nursing interventions and patient care support services alongside a physician or healthcare provider will be expected. This position will also be cross trained in all areas based on the needs of the office.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage patients’ care
- Triage phone calls
- Discuss and record patients’ medical history
- Obtain vital signs and administer injections when necessary
- Verify that patients’ medical charts are updated accurately and in a timely manner
- Renew patient medications via provider instructions
- Obtain pre-authorizations for procedures
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited program of practical nursing
- Licensure in New York State
- Current New York State RN license required
- 1 or more year(s) of experience as an LPN/RN in a medical office setting, preferred
- Familiarity with computers and EMR is required
- Exceptional patient communication skills in person and via telephone a MUST
