What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Revenue Cycle position at Harbor?
Harbor is seeking a competent individual to oversee and coordinate all revenue cycle activities with a goal of maximizing reimbursement in a cost-effective manner that is compliant with federal, state and payer-specific requirements. Provides direction and leadership of the patient registration, credentialing, billing and collection functions for the agency.
Position is full-time, 40 hours per week.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, finance, or related field required. Master degree preferred.
- A minimum of five years or revenue cycle management required.
- Knowledge of governmental and commercial insurance rules and regulations required.
- Advanced computer skills required including Microsoft Office 365.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be honest, dependable, self-disciplined, organized and be able to work well as a team member.
Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements and monitors revenue cycle processes and standard operating procedures.
- Responsible for monitoring and success of established revenue cycle key performance indicators.
- Provides direct supervision, prioritizes billing staff assignments and workflows, and provides initial and ongoing continued education for revenue cycle staff.
- Maximize revenue through the accurate and complete capture of all charges and the establishment of the appropriate charge structure and charge rates consistent with industry standards and the organization’s payer contracts.
- Manages relations with payers and providers to generate high reimbursement rates and a low level of denials.
- Coordinates effective and timely denial management.
- Reviews and approves accounts sent to collections and adjustments.
- Maintains current knowledge regarding payer requirements, ensures system updates are completed accordingly, and keeps team informed and updated regarding changes and requirements.
- Ensures accurate and timely month end close process is in place.
- Conducts internal reviews of claims process for process improvement and compliance monitoring.
- Ensures that fiscal reporting requirements to governmental and funding agencies are met in a timely and accurate manner.
- Works with agency leadership and staff to maximize revenue.
- Coordinates revenue cycle department functions for external audits and reviews.
- Manages revenue cycle projects.
- Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies, and demonstrates continuous growth.
