Summary Job Description:
The Assistant Controller will utilize accounting and other management information to perform financial and expense analyses and will maintain financial models and forecasts that will support decision making by Harc’s senior leaders. In addition, the Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing account reconciliations, building cash flow projections, and helping with the preparation of audit schedules. The Assistant Controller will oversee the accounting for both the HARC Foundation and SockStarz. The Assistant Controller will also learn the roles and responsibilities of the other members of the business office so that they may cover for their teammates during PTO and leaves of absences.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with financial and grant reporting including the DDS annual report, 8 month report and operational plan
- Utilize Paychex, MIP Abila, and other software to perform financial/expense analysis to with management decisions
- Support senior leadership in Cost-Benefit and Opportunity Cost analyses by providing clear and accurate information from MIP Abila and other sources.
- Oversee the reconciliation process for all balance sheet accounts
- Assist in the build-out and maintenance of revenue and expense forecasting models including staffing models
- Assist in monthly budget-to-actual reviews related to revenue and expenses
- Utilize the accounting software to forecast cash needs in order develop and maintain cash flow projections.
- Assist in the preparation of schedules for the annual financial statement audit
- Cross-train in accounts receivable and accounts payable in order to cover during vacations and leaves of absence
- Support the internal control development and process improvement throughout the department
- Assist with developing and maintaining a system to track net assets with donor restrictions and releases from restrictions
- Oversee the accounting for the Harc Foundation and SockStarz
