Facilities Manager
Position Description
The Facilities Manager position will manage the maintenance of the building, grounds, equipment, and plant facilities.
Reports to: Plan Manager
Location: Branford, CT
Duties and functions:
- Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces
- Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed
- Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors
- Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals
- Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders
- Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff
- Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions
- Collaborating with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs
- Manages the maintenance of the building, grounds, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Keeps in compliance with and abreast of all O.S.H.A. regulations.
- Maintains critical facility safety equipment
- Keeps in compliance with all federal and state building and environmental regulatory requirements
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Self-manage workload: priorities, multiple tasks, and easily adapt to changing situations
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably to include welding and/or brazing
- Familiar with local building codes and O.S.H.A. regulations.
- Familiar with all current health and safety regulations.
- Highly proficient with the various MS Office programs
- Strong mechanical aptitudes, and a working knowledge of electrical, and mechanical systems
Education & Experience
- 10 years of experience and licensed electrician
- Demonstrated understanding of project management and/or process improvement methodologies, preferably in the aerospace industry
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Physical effort required.
- Must be able to push, pull, and lift at least 30 lbs.
- Sitting, standing, reaching, bending, and moving.
- Manufacturing environment.
