Overview

The incumbent in this position assists the Director of Slot Operations in coordinating and administering the technical activities of the slot floor, including planning, developing, training and financial controls. Responsible for performing a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs of slots, with infrequent assistance; possesses extensive knowledge of both mechanical and electronic aspects of slot repair; provides training or assistance to lesser experienced technicians.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)   - Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service. - Review new technology, equipment, and accessories under development, and evaluate potential benefits of implementing these new ideas. - Reviews, recommends and/or revises policies and procedures within the Slot Department that support the organization's initiatives and enables department to operate in an efficient, cost-effective manner. - Interviewing, hiring and training; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints, resolving problems, developing positive team member morale. - Diagnoses and repairs the total range of all mechanical and electronic slot malfunctions. - May utilize shop machines to fabricate standard or routine parts. - Replaces parts and circuit boards which have caused malfunctions; may repair some circuit boards, with assistance. - May occasionally act as a specialist in either mechanical or electronic areas. - Maintains advanced skill levels and immediately develops expertise required by new slot technology. - Performs general and preventive maintenance, slot inspection, machine moving and installation, all in accordance with established procedures. - Ensure procedures protect the integrity and security of the company, team members and guests. - Coordinate budget process and manage operations with-in the budget plan. - Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned. - Perform work regularly and predictably. - Attend seminars when needed. - Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)   These skills and abilities are typically acquired through a Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, and 3 to 5 years of related experience, 2 years with supervisory responsibilities over technical training; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.   ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc):   - Must obtain and maintain valid licenses / certifications per Federal, State and ERGC Gaming regulations. - Must successfully pass background check. - Must successfully pass drug screening. - Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. - Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours. - Prior experience in the Gaming industry strongly preferred.   KNOWLEDGE OF:   - Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations. - Machines and equipment used, but not limited to, include the complete range of radio frequency, high voltage, mechanical and pallet jacks, hand trucks, electronic diagnostic and repair equipment including test equipment, other diagnostic and repair equipment, such as oscilloscopes (signal tracing with A-B comparisons and external trigger), EPROM checker-programmer, all machine testers (troubleshooting major boards to component level) AC and DC supplies (to locate over-current conditions), power supply testers, probes, soldering stations, heat guns, and a variety of hand tools, grinders, and other high speed component rotary appliances. - Electronics at the circuit board level. - Microprocessors. - Slot technology.   ABILITY TO:   - Deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable entertainment experience. - Routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals. - Present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance. - Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. - Interpret and explain policies and procedures. - This position spends time on the casino floor and is subject to varying levels of crowds and noise, and the severity of which depends upon guest volume. - Communicate effectively at all times with customer, as well as all levels of employees. - Observe and direct actions of subordinates/trainees. - Inspect and maintain areas for which responsible. - Review and comprehend all necessary documentation. - Use all machine test equipment.
