THE OPPORTUNITY

This position will manage the daily activities of the Midwest and Southern Loss Control team. These activities include, but are not limited to, the development of Loss Control programs; monitoring the costs and services associated with the various fee companies; performing research; training of internal staff and external clients; developing and maintaining strong agency relationships; and supervising the duties of the internal staff.  This position will be expected to travel to the states in this region as needed to meet with staff and agents.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Plan, direct and control activities of assigned Loss Control staff in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Responsible for the quality and quantity of work produced by assigned staff.
• Monitor the selling, and implementation, of the program services for Middle and Large Accounts written by the Company.
• The person in this position will be responsible for managing the work performed by external fee companies.
• This person will work to develop the technical expertise and knowledge of the staff.
• Help facilitate the Loss Control education programs for other departments.
• Conducts large-loss reviews and recommends corrective action to mitigate/prevent future occurrences.
• Respond to specific questions and provide support on Technical emerging topics
• Through the implementation of internal controls and processes, this person will be responsible for providing excellent customer service.
• Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by a supervisor

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• At least five (5) years of experience in the field of either Loss Control 
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience
• Bachelor's degree
• Safety or Industry specific designation

• Technical knowledge in all lines of business such as Property, General Liability, Auto & Workers compensation.
• Strong collaborating skills, and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask, and be flexible with regard to workload and assignments
• Ability to exercise judgment
