General Description of Position:
Work within a dynamic and fast paced accounting group. Versatile employee to prepare routine journal entries, complete balance sheet reconciliations and special projects as a general accountant supporting the different functional areas of accounting to include: Corporate, Revenue, Expense, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and Capital. This requires the ability to adapt and learn quickly.
Duties and Responsibilities: Including but not limited to the following.
- Work in conjunction with warehouse personnel to manage and maintain inventory system
- Review daily inventory transactions for coding accuracy, make corrections, and provide guidance as needed
- Record fixed asset retirements
- Assist in closing of projects to fixed assets
- Load asset information into Fixed Asset System
- Reconciles Balance Sheet accounts as assigned in area of responsibility
- Responsible for monthly Inventory Reserve calculation
- Assist in recording capital accruals
- Prepare adjusting entries moving from capital to expense per policy
- Maintain monthly inventory roll-forward
- Assist in audits in area of responsibility as assigned and according to deadlines set. Special projects as required
Minimum Qualifications: Only candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance
- 2 years progressive accounting/finance experience
- Telecommunications (Part32) experience a plus
- Technically strong with an aptitude for financial and accounting reporting systems
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to perform assigned duties with little or no direction and great detail for accuracy within tight deadlines
- Effectively communicates within and across departments
- Up to date knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications
- Excellent excel and data base skills
- Requires discretion regarding sensitive Company information
- Available to work overtime as needed
