What You'll Be Doing
Job Scope : Provide technical guidance as well as "hands-on" expertise in maintaining, troubleshooting and improving long-term reliability of the site Instrumentation assets.
Responsible for providing technical support to maintenance and operations personnel in all areas of the plant as well as training and development of instrument maintenance personnel.
Generate ideas and demonstrate drive for implementation of effective preventative and predictive instrument maintenance programs.
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to :
Create maintenance strategies for site instrumentation.
Standardize instrumentation documents and procedures.
Assist engineering in developing maintenance sustenance project scopes.
Support Capital Projects as they relate to the Instrument and Control Systems.
Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
Assist with completion of MOC (Management of Change) / PHA (Process Hazard Analysis) action items.
Develop obsolescence plans, critical spare strategy for aging instrumentation.
Optimize and enhance the reliability of the Asset Management Software (AMS) system to ensure efficient management of instrumentation assets, including configuration, data management, and reporting functionalities.
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to instrumentation and control systems.
Ideal Background
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree in Engineering Technology is preferred.
Experience : This position requires up to 5 years plant instrument troubleshooting experience. 5 years of experience in petrochemical or chemical manufacturing plant in the Instrument field
Familiarity with National Electrical Code, intrinsically safe design principles, and Management of Change processes
SIS experience
SAP experience
Experience working within and / or optimizing an asset management software
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry in excess of 25 lbs.
Ability to use the entire body, more often hands and arms, in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials and equipment.
Ability to climb ladders or perform duties utilizing a safety harness while working at elevated heights.
Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs while carrying equipment.
Ability to perform work outdoors or in process units in hot or cold climates.
Ability to perform duties within confined spaces for extended periods of time.
Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hat.
