Hargrove is now sourcing for a Reliability Engineer to help support efforts on-site in Louisville, KY for an exciting Direct Hire opportunity!

Job Scope: :  As part of this position in Louisville, KY, this position will originate and develop analysis methods to determine reliability of components, equipment and processes while also acquiring and analyzing data. This position will help to support needs onsite at a Speciality Chemicals facility. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Prepare diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations and reports to define reliability problems and make recommendations for improvements
• Often this role conducts an analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the required reliability approach for the particular situation, with consideration given to the cost limitations for equipment uptime/ downtime, repair/replacement costs and weight, size and availability of materials/equipment
• Determine cost advantages of alternatives and develops action plans that comply with internal/external customer demands for reliability processes/equipment to avoid failures
• Plan and perform engineering research, design development or manufacturing/process engineering assignments
• Considers total cost on recommended action plans for avoiding/correcting problems during the design phase
• Assignments can be broad in nature and require appreciable originality and ingenuity to complete
• Support Capital Project Team by assisting with Risk Analysis, FMEA & Criticality Assessments
• Ensure compliance with policies regarding safety and environmental aspects
• Responsible for developing specific PM & PDM's to support defined maintenance strategies
• Determine specific maintenance strategies for new & existing equipment
• Create/modify documentation for maintenance procedures
• Implement and support autonomous maintenance programs in conjunction with Plant Engineer and Maintenance
• Reviewing equipment downtime and maintenance costs to find bad actors 
• Utilizing Lean Sigma tools to analyze processes and develop effective solutions
• Champion general engineering practices influenced by the general theme of reliability principles and utilize 5-Why Root Cause Analysis tool to document & solve problems when needed
• Use PdM tools successfully in the field to assist in condition monitoring of equipment and data collection
• Provide technical support as part of of the top tier of the escalation process
• Responsible for entering work orders in SAP to facilitate equipment changes or repairs
• You will manage and maintain Master Data in SAP relating to Reliability
• Responsible for developing and deriving various KPIs and reports from SAP, MES & Power BI as needed

Ideal Background

Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university is required.

Certification: Professional Engineering registration and Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt Certification) are highly preferred.

Experience: This position requires 3 or more years of relevant industrial experience in maintenance and/or reliability function with that experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to walk reasonable distances, potentially on uneven ground or catwalks, and ascend stairs.
• Ability to climb ladders and otherwise navigate through industrial/manufacturing settings and around equipment/installations.
• Ability to stoop, bend, crouch, kneel, and crawl.
• Ability to maneuver in confined spaces.
• Ability to reach with both arms.
• Ability to walk reasonable distances, potentially on uneven ground, and ascend stairs.
