Data Science Analyst

Harlem Children's Zone
New York, NY Full Time
POSTED ON 5/9/2024

Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) — a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York — seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Data Science Analyst to support the Research and Evaluation Department.

The Data Science Analyst will bring a passion for the mission of the Harlem Children’s Zone: break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds up opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life.

With a generation of proof, our innovative work over the decades has achieved unprecedented results with measurable economic and social impact in Harlem and beyond. We are the preeminent thought leader in the education, youth development and poverty-fighting fields, informing policy and advocating for change at the local, state and national levels. Called by President Obama “one of the most successful anti-poverty programs in history,” we are sharing what we have learned with communities around the country and the world, inspiring widespread replication and changing the lives of millions beyond Harlem.

The Data Science Analyst will support the implementation and maintenance of technology systems that promote efficient data collection and dissemination within the organization and with our external partners.

Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Data Science, the Analyst will assist with developing and maintaining HCZ’s data and reporting systems and ensure high-quality data health. Critically, the Analyst will synthesize, summarize, and share data in a format that helps the organization make informed decisions around key business questions and understand its impact.

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with a data analytics or business intelligence background and experience organizing complex data systems to contribute to the continued growth, learning, and success of a frontline organization with comprehensive services.
