Job Summary:

We are in search of a Print Lab Specialist to join our team and play a crucial role in the production of high-quality printed materials. Operating within our printing lab, the Specialist will handle a diverse range of printing presses and machinery, including Noritsu photo printers, Xerox Presses, Wide format HP and Epson printers, binding equipment, UV coating machines, and more. Adept at troubleshooting and ensuring top-notch print quality, the ideal candidate will uphold strict safety and quality standards throughout the printing process.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare printing presses and machinery as per job specifications, encompassing Noritsu photo printers, Xerox Presses, Wide format HP and Epson printers, binding apparatus, UV coating machines, and more.
  • Execute printing tasks proficiently, from loading paper and toners to managing photo printer chemicals and papers.
  • Operate, maintain, and occasionally perform complex procedures on various printing, laminating, binding, and cutting machines.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues, and execute repairs as necessary to uphold optimal machine performance.
  • Monitor machinery performance, making adjustments to enhance production efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure adherence to production schedules and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate production records and manage material resources efficiently.
  • Liaise with external vendors for parts procurement and scheduled servicing.
  • Provide support with pre-press tasks to streamline the printing process.
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve printing issues promptly, escalating when necessary.
  • Uphold cleanliness standards in the work area, including machine maintenance and facility tidiness.
  • Offer assistance with dry mount and framing tasks as required.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

 

Key Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Two years of relevant experience in printing operations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the printing process, including pre-press preparation and final production.
  • Background in graphic design is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Noritsu photo printers, Xerox Presses, Wide format HP and Epson printers, binding equipment, UV coating machines, and related machinery.
  • Capability to handle physical demands associated with the role, such as lifting or moving materials exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
