Job Description: Programmer
Harmony Enterprises, an Equal Opportunity (EEO/AA) Employer, is hiring for the position of
Programmer. Harmony Enterprises' Programmer is responsible for the overall development of
machine controls and electrical designs related to industrial waste and recycling equipment,
such as vertical and horizontal balers, compactors, and automated conveyors.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop machine control systems using PLC/ HMI solutions; primarily Allen Bradley,
Studio 5000, CCW, RSLinx, Codesys, Easy Soft, and other automated solutions.
- Simulate, test, and debug machine control systems in-house.
- Install and start up systems in-house and at end-user facilities.
- Create unique customer-focused solutions and programs.
- Coordinate with customers, vendors, and colleagues to solve automation challenges.
- Create electrical diagrams & schematics with AutoCAD/ACAD Electrical.
- Create, update, and maintain electrical Boms using ERP systems.
- Create, update, and maintain technical data sheets for manuals, internal processes, and
training, in accordance with internal EOS and ISO standards.
- Size and select components, including power supplies, sensors, switches, motors, and
other control devices for machines in compliance with industry standards.
- Uphold safety standards for electrical designs in compliance with latest standards,
including CSA.
- Provide technical support internally and externally.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent is preferred. Applicant must have a solid,
validated history of electrical controls capabilities.
- 5 years’ experience in machine automation controls, conveyors, or other related
systems.
- Experience with 2D and 3D design software (AutoCad-Inventor preferred).
- Experience with Microsoft Office and related tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn quickly in a team-oriented environment.
- High level of motivation and desire to make a difference.
- Ability for travel for system start-ups, when applicable.
