Position Summary:
This position ensures the timely invoicing of Harms Oil Company’s customers. The Billing Specialist ensures accuracy through ongoing communication with fellow Billing Team members and Harms Oil Dispatch Analysts, and actively resolves billing discrepancies as they arise. This position performs additional accounting, back-up, and training duties as needed.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Perform the daily processing of financial transactions to ensure accurate and timely invoicing of Harms Oil Company’s customers.
- Code, and verify accuracy of the bill of lading to the customer drop ticket and to the dispatcher price ticket daily. Research, communicate and correct driver and dispatch ticket errors. Verify accurate product/quantity/supplier information.
- Input all billing detail and driver information into accounting system.
- Communicate directly and regularly with members of the Billing Team and Dispatch Analysts to ensure accuracy in invoicing and record keeping.
- Fulfill additional accounting duties, including training new Billing Specialists. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- High School Diploma, with one year accounting or business experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the freight or fuel transport industry, including familiarity with bills of lading.
- Timely, with a proven track record of completing time-sensitive deliverables on schedule.
- Proven accuracy, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Self-directed and able to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines with professional, quality results.
- Proven organization and customer service skills.
- Computer skills, with knowledge of basic office systems.
- Proven written communication skills, willingness to reach out with questions and work with diverse members of the Billing Team as issues arise.
