What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front office position at Harper College?
General Function :
- Reception desk for diverse population of students, staff, faculty and visitors.
- Answering phones and responding to questions from students.
- Making calls to prospective students to schedule intake appointments or give information.
- Ensuring that testing rooms are tidy and well stocked.
- Front desk reception and customer service including : answering phones and assisting callers, making calls to schedule appointments, greeting and directing visitors.
- Must be computer literate with knowledge of Excel and ability to learn MS Teams and proprietary software system used for scheduling and canceling appointments.
- Data entry, distributing mail, organizing and restocking office supplies.
- Assisting ADS staff with clerical projects, as well as assisting with various ADS events.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual students (Spanish or American Sign Language) are always needed but this is not a requirement of the job.
- Tidying tabletops in testing rooms and stocking scratch paper and sharpened pencils.
- Provide general assistance as determined by the department.
Education Requirements :
In order to apply for this position, you must be a current Harper College student and registered for a minimum of 6 credit hours for each semester (fall / spring) you are working.
Experience Requirements :
Some general office or customer service experience preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
