JOB SUMMARY :
Responsible for supervising the labor planning team, ensuring the effective development and maintenance of an efficient, unbiased labor forecasting and scheduling process for the Caesars Ent, Atlantic City region.
DIRECTLY SUPERVISES :
Labor Optimization Planner
Atlantic City Operations
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Oversees planners’ daily responsibilities payroll audits, compiling progressive discipline, and other administrative tasks.
- Works directly with the outlet managers in producing a reliable forecast and an optimal demand-based schedule.
- Communicates any discrepancies of actual productivity vs. target with Scheduling manager and outlet manager.
- Reviews weekly Total Service scores and Total Service reports.
- Will make staffing recommendations to both Scheduling and outlet managers based on PAT numbers and Total Service scores.
- Responsible for reviewing vacations and time off requests and setting parameters on how many vacations / time off requests can be approved and / or denied for hourly employees and the scheduling planners.
- Works directly with the outlet managers and Human Resources regarding matters of contracts, including Step 1s and Grievances.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
College Degree in business related field or equivalent work experience preferred. 2-3 years experience in a financial / operational environment.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and databases. Supervisory and scheduling experience required. Knowledge of planning and scheduling processes in a casino environment preferred.

- Strong consulting skills with the ability to advise and make recommendations, provide assistance or help with planning from a basis of personal expertise where no formal or direct reporting relationship exists.
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
- Responds quickly and effectively to changing business environment.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays, including all shifts (day, swing, grave).
- Consistently exhibits an update and positive attitude at all times and a willingness to learn and be open minded.
- Provides customer feedback and suggestions to individual departments as well as to the Total Service department on a regular basis.
- Scheduling experience and supervisory experience is mandatory.
- Continuous Improvement background is preferred.
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4-6 hours)
- Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions, when handling employee conflicts
- Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel
- Responds to visual and aural cues
- Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights
- Must be able to maneuver around office and property.
- Given the demands listed above, this candidate must be able to handle more than one function (or one customer) at a time by being well organized while producing accurate and error free results.
