ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Execute laboratory testing according standard procedures, make observations and interpret findings.
- Perform various studies of research and finished products.
- Coordinate activities between Quality and Research functions. Assist production in solving product quality issues.
- Receive, label and analyze samples.
- Organize and store all chemicals substances according to safety instructions.
- Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility.
- Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies.
- Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
EDUCATION:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- None
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be self-motivated and can work independently.
- Strong problem solving, excellent verbal and writing communication and decision-making and critical thinking skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and project management skills including the ability to work against pressing deadlines.
- Working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
. Communicating with internal and external customers – must be able to talk, hear, see, and comprehend.
. The use of a computer and phone – Must be able to see, type, write, finger, grasp, and sit; must be able to use a mobile phone.
. Mobility of arms – Must be able to reach and use arms to manipulate small objects.
. Mobility inside the office space and plant, stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
. Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
. Some exposure to dust, and noise levels that exceed a normal threshold.
. Work schedule is rotating shift.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
. Must wear steel-toed boots.
. Recommended: Safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, back brace, and safety attire as noted by guides provided in specific areas. These items will be provided by Harrell’s upon request.
. Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in accordance with SDS recommendation
