Job Description:
L3Harris Warrior Mission Solutions in Londonderry, NH has a 3-month summer internship opportunity for a motivated Engineering student seeking a mentored experience working within a professional manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work within a team of Manufacturing Engineers, supporting the team in dispositioning and troubleshooting product fallout, generating reports, updating documentation and providing production assistance. These efforts support the transition to production and development of manufacturing processes for the production of complex electro optical systems within a fast paced manufacturing environment. The candidate will apply engineering principles and troubleshooting skills in order to provide the day-to-day technical support.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Disposition/analyze daily production fallout
- Assist in the troubleshooting of product
- Assist in the preparation of product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Perform root cause analysis of technical issues
- Modify assembly process flows and work instructions as required
- Train production staff as required
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field
GPA of 3.0 or greater
US citizenship or permanent residence is required
Preferred Skills:
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills
- Proactive work ethic and energy
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
- Familiarity in Lean Manufacturing, AutoCAD and/or Pro-E, Six Sigma, technical writing, MS Project and/or MS SharePoint
- Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot technical issues
- Hands-on aptitude with electro-mechanical product
- Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, power meters, and laser beam analyzers
- Basic ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical wiring diagrams
