Position Description
The Supervisor (III-IV) positions assists the Chief Clerk and Assistant Chief Clerk(s) with overseeing the daily administration and operations of the Justice Court in several areas of responsibility by planning, assigning, and supervising the work of others; establishing goals and objectives; developing schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals; and coordinating and evaluating projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in supervising non-exempt support staff in the Justice Court. Assists in planning, organizing, delegating, and overseeing the daily operations of assigned areas of responsibility to ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
- Assists in overseeing the office to ensure staffing coverage is adequate and productivity standards are met and are effective, providing feedback to department managers and staff; assists with collecting data for performance measures.
- Assists in generating activity reports and statutory reports for submission to the respective governmental agencies.
- Ensures that the department is in compliance with all Auditor's Office and Office of Court Administration requirements.
- Provides input into training of new employees and employee disciplinary matters.
- Develops and coordinates court dockets for trials and hearings, including scheduling of interpreters and juries.
- Provides support to the Judge and support staff when court is in session.
- Researches and maintains comprehensive knowledge and understanding of applicable laws, criminal and civil procedures, policies and procedures to effectively communicate with staff, colleagues, elected officials, department heads, judges, attorneys, pro-se litigants, assistant district attorneys, law enforcement and other professionals to resolve problems, answer questions as appropriate, and provide input into modifying policies and procedures.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of Odyssey Case Management System functionality.
- Performs all other job-related duties as assigned by department management. Management may, at its discretion, assign, or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

Requirements

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited education institution
- Minimum of three (5) years of professional clerical/administrative experience with
Five (5) years in a supervisory role
Minimum of five (5) years of cash handling experience
Minimum of five (5) years experience as a court clerk
Licensures:
- A valid U.S. driver's license and social security card
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of court procedures specific to the area of responsibility.
- Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations specific to the area of responsibility.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing is essential.
- Possess excellent customer service skills.
- Possess excellent organizational skills; ability to be punctual, dependable, and handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment, remain calm, and handle stressful situations.
- Detail oriented.
- Basic computer skills including proficiency in the use of MS Office software, such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to pass the HRRM Clerical Skills Test and score a minimum of 90% with a typing speed of 40 Word Per Minute and 90% accuracy.
