Performs highly advanced and/or supervisory (senior-level) systems administration work. Work involves overseeing the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of Public Works Systems. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

- Oversees and/or maintains the functionality of the systems environment, the implementation of technology solutions, and the development of server upgrade plans and procedures.
- Oversees and/or develops operating procedures for technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and innovative systems administration techniques.
- Provides guidance in troubleshooting and solving complex problems related to system software and hardware incidents and problem calls, and in the processing of service requests and tasks.
- Oversees projects that cross functional Harris County systems that require coordination, planning, and scheduling during project development and implementation.
- Assists in analyzing and defining Precinct 2 disaster recovery responsibilities and procedures.
- Oversees studies and the preparation of reports that include study findings, recommendations, and instructions for proposed system implementations.
- Formulates logical descriptions of problems.
- Devises and implements optimum solutions.
- Recommends to management systems technology solutions and enterprise-related hardware and software standards.
- Assists with budget recommendations for operating systems, including the supporting hardware and software.
- Oversees the development and implementation of new or revised processes and procedures that effectively meet Precinct 2 needs and improve workflow.
- Analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves system hardware, software, and networking issues
- Provides status reports to management.
- Oversees the training of staff prior to the implementation of systems, and provides advice and guidance during the implementation process.
- Responsible for maintaining and/or updating the Precinct 2 Public Works website.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum Five (5) years of experience in information technology operations.
- Must attain a Class “C” Texas driver's license within 60 days of hire

- This job operates in a clerical, office setting.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

- Proficient in Fleetio, Tririga, Microsoft CRM and other Road & Bridge work order management systems preferred.
- Full-time position - 40 hours per week.
- Hours may vary based on the business needs of the department and some weekend, evening hours, or holidays may be required during special events.
- Situations may require additional hours without prior notice.
- Required to work on-site during an emergency event.
- Perform emergency standby duty, during non-duty hours, as assigned.

- Based on 26 Pay Periods
