SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

With safety being top priority, the control technician will be responsible for the installation, service and maintenance of HVAC controls components including: HVAC control devices, low voltage wiring, conduit & terminations, control computing hardware and/or software and related infrastructure elements. Integration skills required.

PRIMARY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for designing, programming, installation and maintenance of control computing hardware and/or software and related infrastructure elements and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Follows blueprints and/or engineering specifications to install, troubleshoot and maintain control systems infrastructure software and equipment.
  • Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
  • Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering diagnostic data and coordinating on-site work, as necessary.
  • Maintains equipment by inspecting for signs of wear and/or damage.
  • Represents the company by serving as a direct customer contact.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, distinguish color wires and bend frequently.
  • Documents work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration; and maintain files.
  • Records parts, material, labor, subs and other cost data per assignment and returns unused resources.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma, Related Associates degree or equivalent from a Technical/Trade school or 2 years related experience in construction and/or low voltage installation, IT & TCP/IP experience is highly desirable. HVAC controls experience preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

State driver’s license, auto insurance, auto registration, acceptable driving record.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; ability to distinguish color wires; peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.
