About the position:
Who are we looking for?
Our ideal Medical Biller should be detailed oriented, a team player, and able to work well with others and take direction.
1. They should be able to create claims accurately - this includes knowing which icd-10 codes do not go with certain cpt codes, making sure the claim is created with the correct provider, facility, fee schedule and insurance. We are looking for someone who has great attention to detail.
2. They will be expected to post payments electronically and manually - this includes making sure insurances pay us correctly based on our fee schedules. We are looking for someone who has the eye to catch inconsistencies and initiates the solution.
3. They will also work on Denials/AR - this includes calling insurances for more information, understanding what information is available on the insurance websites, submitting appeals and or reporting to the DOI.
We are looking for someone with clear and strong communication skills.
An ideal candidate knows what questions to ask to avoid getting the run around from insurances. In addition to that, their documentation should be crystal clear; no more or no less than what other team members should know.
4. Handle Patient Accounts - this includes calling patients about their balances, offering payment plans, sending patients to collections, answering any billing inquiries and printing accurate patient statements.
An ideal candidate is able to put themselves in the patient shoes, which to us means using the billing language that will be understood, using the right tone to eliminate any frustrations, giving accurate and clear explanations about bills and providing guidance for future inquiries.
Here’s a few requirements for our Medical Biller:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a medical biller - preferably in Internal Medicine or Primary Care
- Certified Medical Biller is preferred but not required
- At least 6 months and current experience with our EMR system, Eclinicalworks and our clearing house, Change Healthcare.
- Knowledge of SNF billing is a MAJOR PLUS
- Ability to work under pressure
- Teamplayer with good focus and maturity
- Willing to learn and conform to company standards and systems
Compensation:
$20-27 hourly depending on experience
This position is FULL TIME. Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
