Additionally, Underground Infrastructure Technologies, LLC (UIT), a division of Harrison Western, is a full-service utility contractor specializing in trenchless technologies. UIT preforms wet and dry utility installations utilizing both trenchless technologies and open cut excavation to complete projects, large or small in multiple geographic markets. Headquartered in Lakewood, Colorado, we have completed over $2 billion of mining and construction development projects that range geographically from the Artic to the Andes.
We are currently looking for a field mechanic to join our crew located in Northern Colorado. The field mechanic troubleshoots, repairs and maintains all equipment that our crews use in to perform work in the mine.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and perform repairs on excavators, drills, muckers, pumps and other mining and construction equipment. Repairs and maintenance would include work on engines, transmissions, chassis, drivelines and body components, hydraulic, pneumatic, bake, electrical and suspension systems, wheels, tires, undercarriages, etc.
- Fabrication and light machining
- Operate tools, equipment and machinery according to prescribed safety features
- Ensure shop, equipment and tools are in safe operating condition
- Follow and adhere to Harrison Western safety procedures and techniques
Required skills:
- 5 years of mining and/or construction equipment maintenance experience required
- Ability to travel (including driving your personal vehicle to different jobsites)
- Personal Tool set
- Mining and/or construction experience
- Ability to take direction from leadership
- Ability to recognize safety risks and hazards
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Work in standing, seated or other physical positions
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Preferred skills:
- 4G certified welder
- CDL (Class A or B)
- Diversified experience
Wage – $28 to $32/hr based on applicable experience plus per diem
