Additionally, Underground Infrastructure Technologies, LLC (UIT), a division of Harrison Western, is a full-service utility contractor specializing in trenchless technologies. UIT performs wet and dry utility installations utilizing both trenchless technologies and open cut excavation to complete projects, large or small in multiple geographic markets. We are currently looking for Project Engineers to join our team. Project Engineers provide administrative, coordination and field support to the Project Manager and Superintendent during the preconstruction, construction and closeout phases of projects as assigned. This position is responsible for a variety of project support tasks that require strict adherence and compliance with the Company’s standard operating policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership throughout a project to ensure timely and quality results with responsibilities of safety, technical and cost performance
- Assist Project Manager in creating, updating, and utilizing schedule information to help determine required materials, subcontractor scheduling, staffing, and other aspects of project management
- Assist Estimating department in plan take offs, specification review, cost gathering, preparation of estimates and proposals
- Ensure proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are worn
- Follow all health and safety policy and regulations
- Provides interpretation of job/project plans and specifications and resolves questions as they arise
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of client requirements, specifications, construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders
- Assists in determining pricing options for potential change orders
- Assist Project Manager in generating and managing project budgets, cost controls and project related invoicing
- Organizes subcontractors, vendors, material suppliers, inspectors, testing labs and others as required to fulfill the requirements of the schedule and project(s)
- Familiar with the unique aspects of the job and properly establish and maintain appropriate document control
- Inventory, organize, procure, and maintain materials and tooling for work activities
- Perform archive filing and historical cost data gathering
- Coordinate utility locates in timely manner and update as needed
- Responsible for timely submittal of all reports as required and/or requested by management or client
- Initiates project close-out activities
- Solicit new bidding opportunities and research plans for potential opportunities
- Extensive travel and presence at different jobsites throughout the United States required
Required Skills:
- Minimum three years construction operations experience, including exposure to materials management and project operations in the ground support specialty
- Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Applicable mathematical skills
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly
- Proven positive and professional attitude
- Strong customer service and multi-tasking skills
- Current driver’s license
- Background, Motor Vehicle Record, and Drug Screening
- Intermittent travel required
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel required. B2W, CAD, and/or MS Project experience a plus
Education
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar or equivalent experience
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range of $70,000 to $95,000
