Environmental Services Specialist-weekend shift

Harry and David want to add a weekend shift Janitor to their team.
Hours:

Friday/Saturday/Sunday 6am-6:30pm

Responsible for keeping the building in a clean and orderly condition. Will perform heavy cleaning duties such as: cleaning floors, bathrooms, spot-cleaning carpets, washing walls and glass, and removing office and bathroom trash. In addition, will operate specialized custodial equipment used in maintaining hard floors, carpets, and powered floor machines in the DC, as needed. This position will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the building inside and out.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Office/Restroom Essential Functions:

• Service, clean and supply restrooms on a periodic schedule.
• Gather and empty trash within the offices, break rooms, and restrooms.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing, as needed.
• Clean windows, glass partitions and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges and squeegees.
• Shampoo, extract, and bonnet all carpets, as instructed.
• Scrub, strip, wax and burnish all hard floors, as instructed.
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
• Complete daily start up procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
• Maintain and actively support safety programs; immediately address and report safety issues to team lead.
• Will be trained as a responder of blood-borne pathogens cleanup and will be required to notify team lead and security of all cleanup actions taken.

Office/Restroom Secondary Functions:

• Required to carry a communication radio and respond to any call of clean up spills or issues of the DC area only, excluding the restrooms.
• Notify team lead concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Notify team lead on supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.
• Maintain reasonable and reliable attendance

Exterior Essential Functions:

• Pick-up and remove trash and debris from grounds
• Empty cigarette receptacles
• Sweep and/or power wash entries and sidewalks.
• Empty trash receptacles.

DC Warehouse Essential Functions:

• Supply trash liners and other supplies to other DC departments, as requested.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping and scrubbing, as needed.
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
• Complete daily start up procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
• Maintain and actively support safety programs; immediately address and report safety issues to team lead.
• Will be trained as a responder of blood-borne pathogens cleanup and will be required to notify team lead and security of all cleanup actions taken.

DC Warehouse Secondary Functions:

• Required to carry a communication radio and respond to any call of clean up spills or issues of the DC area only, excluding the restrooms.
• May be certified to operate boom manlift equipment at a height of 30 feet from the ground.
• Notify team lead concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Notify team lead on supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required.
• Ability to communicate with employees at all levels (peers, leadership & employees).
• Experience with specialized power cleaning equipment is highly desirable.
• Experience with proper use of cleaning chemicals and solutions required.
• Basic reading (English) skills.
• Successful completion Safety Classroom Training, boom man-lift certification, and blood-borne Pathogens required.

PHYSICAL DEMAND AND WORK EFFORT

• Lift up to 20lbs continuously and 30lbs on occasion.
• On occasion, the ability to climb stairs repeatedly over the course of the assigned work shift or assigned duty during peak season.
• Walk, stand and sit during the entire shift (8-10 hours) and stoop, kneel, crawl and climb.
• Ability to work at heights, as assigned (30 feet).
• Ability to work in demanding circumstances (crowded conditions, cold storage (-10° to 40°)
• Must be able to maintain reasonable and reliable attendance.
