What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rail Crew position at Harsco Environmental?
Harsco’s Environmental division is the premier provider of material processing and environmental services to the global steel and metals industries. Our onsite mill services and resource recovery services offer sustainable solutions that maximize environmental benefit and return valuable raw material into production. We also have developed a range of by-products for specialized applications across industry, construction and agriculture, which utilize Harsco’s expertise in mineral materials.

If so, and you can work in a steel mill environment, have a valid driver's license and can pass a drug and alcohol screen, this may be the right job for you if you have the ability to:
- Follow and relay radio instructions regarding various rail tasks
- Ability to operate hand braking systems and climb ladders on the train
- Maintain records in Microsoft Excel.
- Understand and utilize arm, lantern and radio signals and all other indications of train direction and movement
- Understand and comply with all safety protocols, instructions, and reports.
- Maintain an acceptable attendance
- 12-hour shift work, 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am, varied weekdays and weekends
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Knowledge of short line railroading preferred
