Hartford Hospital

The Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine
The mission of The Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine is to provide the Southern New England region with access to expertise in advanced wound care and hyperbaric medicine therapies.
Wound Care Advanced Practitioner Role Scope
- Comprehensive diagnosis and wound assessment of patients
- Ordering appropriate lab tests, imaging studies, radiographic and other cardiac imaging studies, interpret lab, imaging studies, maintain currency in advanced cardiac life support
- Management of Hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments
- Coordinate care of assigned patients including nursing care, nutrition, medications, dressings and adjunctive wound therapies
- Review patient charts, write progress notes, tabulate data, and complete other required medical record documentation
- Schedule - 4 - 10 hour days (Mon-Fri)

Qualifications
Advanced Practitioner Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master’s program. Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
- Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant, or National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner through a national board certification.
- Wound care certification or experience preferred ; Training in Hyperbaric Therapy will be provided
