Job Description

The experienced and dynamic Production Manager will oversee our production of Cork products that meet the high-quality standards of Cork Supply and our customers. The Production Manager will be responsible for coordinating and supervising all aspects of our Production and Warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day production operations, including production planning, and resource allocation.
  • Manage and motivate a team of production workers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Monitor production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Quality to coordinate production schedules and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to meet production targets and company objectives.
  • Analyze production data and metrics to track performance and identify areas for optimization.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in manufacturing technology and processes.
  • Maintain and manage department budgets.
  • Perform all duties as assigned, but not limited to the responsibilities within this job description.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, operations management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in manufacturing and operations management with 5 years managing teams consisting of 20 individual contributors.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Proven track record of implementing process improvements and driving operational excellence.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Six Sigma and Lean certification highly preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office and manufacturing software systems.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings, training, or other business-related purposes.

Physical Demands

  • Able to work longer than normal business hours including weekend and evening work.
  • Work in warehouse with varying temperatures.
  • Stand on concrete floor for an extended period of time.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comply with GMP/Food Safety policies and wear personal protective equipment as required.
