CHILD CAREGIVER JOB SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a compassionate, reliable, experienced Child Caregiver to join our thriving childcare facility. In this role, you will see to the children’s basic needs, provide a learning environment, and create a safe, compassionate “home-away-from home” for our little ones. To succeed in this position, you should be patient, enthusiastic, and fun-loving, with a passion for child development and care.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide responsible care for children
- Treat all children with care and compassion
- Uphold all safety standards
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly classroom
- Maintain a professional attitude, respecting family privacy at all times
- Encourage nutritional food choices for children and encourage them to try new things
- Lead songs and learning exercises
- Provide structure and accountability in a compassionate fashion
- Help children with toileting/diaper changes as needed
- Implement educational, age-appropriate activities
- Encourage children to participate in all activities
- Help children learn to be “helpers” in the classroom, as appropriate
- Contact parents as needed to address challenges
- Provide many opportunities for children to learn and develop age-appropriate skills
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required, college degree is strongly preferred
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications required
- Certification in early childcare or degree in childhood development preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a professional childcare setting
- Exceptional patience and ability to remain calm at all times
- Excellent listening skills and an engaging demeanor
- Solid working knowledge of childhood development
- Creativity, compassion, and professionalism are a must
- Fun and enthusiastic attitude
- Willing to sing, dance, and “be silly” with the children
- Physically able to perform tasks, including sitting on the floor, bending, and standing
- Must be able to lift children weighing up to 30 lbs regularly
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
