Harvest Group is searching for a Data Architect that can unpack opportunities with our business partners and ultimately deliver a data solution through coordinating with Business Intelligence, Data Operations, and Application Development. The Data Architect has specific responsibility for designing, creating, and maintaining both raw and transformed, analysis-ready datasets for our customers. The Data Architect will be exposed to many different datasets from many data providers and is charged with making that data available for analysis to our business partners so that they can grow our clients’ businesses. To do this, the Data Architect will need to be able to grasp how the business operates, how the data is useful to the business, how the data is structured, and how the data relates to other relevant datasets. The Data Architect leverages a cloud BI stack built on a Snowflake data warehouse to accomplish the task. Join our team to learn about the intricacies of the consumer packaged goods (CPG) retail industry and facilitate data democratization via cloud solutions to grow our clients’ businesses.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain data models in a data warehouse for raw datasets from multiple data providers
• Design, implement and maintain analysis-ready (OLAP) datasets transformed and blended from raw data using SQL-based graphical ETL/ELT tools

• Partner with business end-users to gain an understanding of business problems to thoroughly scope data solutions
• Participate in cross-functional agile development teams with Business Intelligence, Data Operations, and Application Development to deliver data solutions to our business end-users

Requirements

• One or more of:
• 1 years in a data engineering role, with responsibility across the entire data stack – extraction, loading, transformation, and analysis
• 1 years in data architecture or data modeling role with high proficiency in database implementation experience
• 2 years of data analysis experience demonstrating proficient understanding of SQL and data model relationships, data cleansing, and/or transformation through scripting, SQL, or graphical tools

• Demonstrated strong communication skills, able to communicate with both technical and non-technical individuals

Preferred Qualifications

• Utilizing Snowflake or comparable cloud data warehouse platform
• Matillion, Talend, Alteryx, Data Bricks, or other comparable ETL/ELT tool experience
• Data analysis with Looker, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
• Working in an Agile Scrum framework
• Retail industry experience
• Retail Link, Market 6, Partners Online and other retailer data system experience
• Programming/scripting with Python, C#, or other languages

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS or related technical field or equivalent work experience
