Position: Sr. Payroll Specialist

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role will prepare and process semi-monthly payroll for both exempt and nonexempt employees in the US and Canada. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and processing payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Reviewing weekly new hire reports and validating pay profile information in Namely Payroll & HRIS.
- Updating payroll changes in submission templates for processing.
- Sending e-signature federal & state forms to new hires.
- Calculating final pay for terminations.
- Entering supplemental compensation, such as sign-on bonuses, relocation bonuses, referral bonuses, and stipends.
- Auditing timesheets for hourly employees to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state Wage & Hour laws.
- Uploading timesheet data to the Namely ticketing system.
- Performing audits prior to payroll transmission.
- Processing off-cycle payrolls as needed.
- Sending post-payroll reports to Accounting for reporting purposes.
- Handling ad hoc payroll reporting requests from Accounting, HR, and other functional groups.
- Acting as a backup to the Payroll Manager for employee inquiries.
- Supporting the manager with external/internal audits.
- Preparing and processing Canada semi-monthly payroll in alignment with company compensation & benefit programs.
- Manually entering Canada new hire profile information in the TeamADP payroll tool.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of practical payroll work experience.
- Multi-state payroll and Canada payroll experience required.
- Hands-on experience with Payroll systems (Namely preferred but not required).
- Understanding of federal/state Wage & Hour Laws related to timekeeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (ability to create pivot tables, VLookups, and other functions).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
