About The Role:
Human Systems Integration (Company) is currently seeking a talented and motivated Project Engineer with a focus on Electronic Textiles and Electromechanical systems and with a specialty in apparel-embedded, baselayer electronics, including application areas such as Digital Health, Gesture Control, Haptics, and Heated Apparel. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of innovative solutions in the electronic textiles domain, with a particular emphasis on electromechanical integration, and you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and delivering cutting-edge wearable electronics solutions that cater to our Defense and Commercial customers. Your expertise will be vital in driving innovation, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the successful implementation of wearable electronics technologies. \n- Design and Development: Work on the design and development of electronic textiles, integrating electromechanical components into wearable devices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring concepts to reality.
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical support and oversight throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure that designs meet specifications, and quality standards, and are delivered on time.
- Research and Development (R&D): Work on programs specifically targeted toward government customers, such as the DoD, NIH, and NSF.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including designers, electronics engineers, and materials scientists, to achieve project goals. Foster a collaborative environment to encourage innovation and creativity.
- Testing and Evaluation: Conduct testing and evaluation of prototypes, ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards. Iteratively refine designs based on test results and user feedback.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and progress reports. Ensure that documentation meets internal and external quality standards.
- U.S. Citizenship or Green Card: The candidate must be a U.S. citizen (preferred) or Green Card holder.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electronic textiles and electromechanical systems.
- Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of electronic textiles, wearable technologies, and electromechanical systems. Experience with designing and integrating sensors, actuators, and electronics into textiles is highly desirable.
- Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage projects, including coordinating tasks, allocating resources, and meeting deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Innovative Thinking: Creative and innovative mindset with a passion for staying abreast of the latest developments in electronic textiles and related technologies.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, contributing to a positive and dynamic workplace culture.
